From the streets of South Bronx to the turbulence of South Central Los Angeles in the 1980's and early 1990s, Global ImageWorks has footage that documents the birth of Hip Hop and the pioneers who made the music. Our Early Hip-Hop Collection includes interviews with the founding fathers of Hip Hop like DJ Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash, Grandmaster Caz, The Cold Crush Brothers, Salt 'N' Pepa, KRS-One, and Run DMC, just to name a few. We also have rare footage of N.W.A., Ice Cube, Ice T, Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre, and Queen Latifah just before their rise in popularity took them to the forefront of the Hip Hop world. This incredible collection captures the artists in behind the scenes environments, while documenting them as they work on some of the most seminal and groundbreaking albums of the 1990s. Global Image Works' footage collection also features interviews with artists like Gil Scott Heron and George Clinton, two of the early and influential artists who laid the groundwork for the hip hop genre.
